L'anglais d'Amérique

Although American English shares many similarities with British English, it is becoming increasingly distinct—not only in terms of vocabulary, of course, but also from a socio-cultural perspective—to such an extent that it warrants specific study.
Our course, based on daily study of parallel dialogues in American English and French, is structured around two carefully designed and progressive phases. In the first phase, learners immerse themselves in the language by listening to realistic dialogues and reading the explanatory notes, while checking and confirming their knowledge through a series of short exercises. The second phase, which begins midway through the course, activates those skills and puts them into practice, particularly through translating the dialogues. By practising regularly, learners will acquire a solid grounding in everyday vocabulary and usage, as well as the fundamental rules of grammar. The entire course, comprising around one hundred lessons, takes just a few months to complete. The recordings include all the texts in US English for each lesson and the translation exercises from the book. These progressively more challenging texts have been recorded by professional native speakers.
